The Quaternion Engine
A tool for embodied understanding. Manipulate the four components of the quaternion to feel how they create rotation. The labels are drawn from your Torsional Lattice concept.
The "real" component. Notice how it influences the overall magnitude of the rotation.
Rotation around the X-axis (red). The centripetal pull towards consolidation.
Rotation around the Y-axis (green). The pivotal flip that shifts a system's state.
Rotation around the Z-axis (blue). The outward spark that begins a new cycle.
How to Use
Use the sliders to change the four components of the quaternion (q₀, q₁, q₂, q₃). Observe how the central object rotates in response. The quaternion is normalized, meaning it always represents a pure rotation. Use your mouse to drag and orbit around the object to see the rotation from different perspectives.
